Hi! Just a really quick question here. correct me if I'm wrong, but are employers the only authorised people to check a candidate's S Pass application status? My husband's been offered a position, his employer's submitted the application, today is Day 5 and we're both anxious, to say the least.
MOM's website says processing time is "within seven days". We're just in limbo!
I've read somewhere about being able to check the status with a FIN number but my husband doesn't want to appear desperate by asking his would-be employer for one. We also know that an agent submitted the application, so the employer may not have any information.
Is there no other way of knowing the status?

5 days is pretty short specially for S Pass
He can call MOM automated line if he has a FIN # and check status

Thanks, ecureilx. We'll just wait then. He should have a FIN number but just doesn't want to appear desperate by asking for it (he wants to play it cool.)
I got my hopes up after reading other blogs and websites about people getting their results in two working days

Approval is subjective
At times, it can be within 2 days and others, 2 week, or longer.
then again, if you have his FIN #, then why not try here too ?

I didn't dig through, but is your husband on your DP or what is his current status ?

She said he doesn't have a FIN, so presumably he's never worked here before (as I learned, a FIN is for life, even if you leave and return 10 years later!). But I'd echo the question as to what his current status is.

Hi, we're still no closer to knowing the application result than two weeks ago. How long should we be expecting? MOM states that over 80% of S Pass applications are processed within seven working days. I suppose my husband falls in the 20%. It's been over 2 calendar weeks (12 working days to be exact - I haven't counted in Saturdays).
My husband's asked his employer for an update but was told that "it's still processing." I'm guessing the employer doesn't know any better than my husband because the entire application is handled by an agent.
Just wondering if any of the seasoned folks here know how long can this application take up to?

Who went through an agent? The problem might well be with the agent. If the employer had to use an agent, I wouldn't put too much stock into the company being successful. Good Luck.

Thanks so much for your replies. We're back to the waiting game. I won't be surprised if some employers use agents, really. There are some small companies out there which are very good in business operations but don't do very well in paperwork.
Good luck to us!
