Unfortunately IME Electrolux are not a very reliable brand. I'd put Hotpoint in the same category, and Beko. They are the brands I'd look to put into a property that's going to get rented out, as the cynical landlord in me has found tenants are pretty good at destroying appliances one way or another double-quick time [sigh]. These are the same quality and/or brands as we have found in places we have rented in SG.Joeite wrote: just didn't expect it from Electrolux. Guess I am wrong.
For my own UK home the appliances all happen to be German. Bosch/Neff/Vaillant (boiler), my Miele vacuum is too. They certainly cost more up-front but seem to go on for ever, so in the long run work out much cheaper.
When I later owned a few rentals and rented out my own home it was interesting to contrast the frequency of repairs in the rental places, vs my rented home. Few appliances in rentals survived more than say 5 years, at which point they became 'uneconomic to repair'. Whereas the same appliances remain in use in my former home, installed by me 15 years ago, rented out for the past 8-9.
