Looking to pick up sailing lessons and improve my basic skills. Any suggestions on where is a good place for this? Do I have to be a member of any sailing clubs to take these lessons? How often do they have regattas here? Any information would be of great help. Thank you.

I have seen groupon deals for basic sailing skills. They're situated at Punggol Marina Country Club...you could try googling that.
There's also a Sailing Club at Sembawang, I think...I don't know whether you have to be a member or not, though.
My thread...
The Weekenders If you need my e-mail address, it's in the first post of the thread.

Akimbo! Thanks mate. I will check it out. Most of the yacht clubs require membership but I think the lessons should include non-members as well. Anyway, I will check out other options as well.

The place I mentioned is a genuine lessons place - no membership needed. They use some sort of small dinghy.
Found it! They talk about wind surfing but I've seen a lot of dinghy sailing from the same location.

Keppel Bay Sailing Academy is the only Royal Yachting Association affiliated trainer in Singapore. They offer lessons, no membership required. Just a very large wallet.
(They are based at Keppel marina)

So here is what I have found so far....
Constantwind:
Price: $428 for 3 sessions
Boat: Laser Pico or Bahia
Availability: have to call
Keppel bay Marina:
Price: $1150 for 5 day course (need minimum 3 person for class)
Boat: 40 foot sailboat
Availability: December
None of them require membership, however, being a member has its own benefits. Keppel Bay is exclusive for boat owners and residence of keppel bay. I guess it really depends on what type of sailing you are looking for, your availability and what type of boat you are comfortable with. They are both basic sailing courses.
Standby for more updates once I join one of these.
