Re: Chances of getting Singapore Citizenship
hi,
i just received IPA notification today. Under the singapore citizenship roadmap, it's mentioned that we should avoid using our current passport to purchase travel itineraries that are 2 or 3 months ahead from the date of issue of this AIP letter. but i have already planned a trip in October , do i need to seek ICA approval on this??

The Singapore Citizenship journey + tour may take you around 1.5-2 months. Only after that you can get your Singapore Citizenship and passport. Anyway call ICA and check with them. You can email them too and they will be able to advice you

Re: Chances of getting Singapore Citizenship
So you need to finish SGJOURNEY in 2 months from IPA. Formal approval letter - 7 days after SGJOURNEY + Tentative ICA appointment to Oath taking in a month. Before going to ICA, you need to give up your current citizenship/passport.
So chances are slim that you can travel with your prev/current passport. Had the same issue and managed to make it work with Airlines help. SQ was cool about it. Alternatively you can push your oath taking / SG journey by talking to ICA/SG Journey

First post here.
I was wondering are there any instances on the forum where SC was approved after multiple rejections over the years?
Personally, my application has been rejected a few times, so I understand I do not meet the criteria for now. The only option is to keep improving my profile and apply again. However, wanted to know if there have been instances of success after initial rejection?

1. How old are you? Education?
2. What do you work as and years of experience?
3. Salary?
4. Family in SG and applied with them?
5. Race?
6.Rejected how many times?
7. Where are you from originally?
All these would matter. If you are young, you can still improve your career, education, salary and try again.
But if you are not young, then chance will be very less to get it approved after multiple rejections

Re: Chances of getting Singapore Citizenship
Hi,
I'm here new in this valuable forum.
We applied citizenship early July 2018. It still pending.
We are PR since 2006, and master degree holder from local uni.
And race is their preferred one.
I believe our profile good enough for them to consider..
But why still pending. Is it normal or another reason there could be?
Because only my hubby and our 2 little daughters (they are PR too, born in here) applied.
But i, myself left out for some reason.
Should i also do so?
If i apply now while theirs is still pending, could it be more possible to get it?
But it will be separate application number or they can know we are together??
Can anyone advice me?

Since, you didnt include yourself in the application, please wait. Usually around 12-15 months, the result will come.Scott Jane wrote: ↑Mon, 02 Sep 2019 11:11 amHi,

If in case it is rejected, include yourself in the application and apply as a family after 1 year.

Re: Chances of getting Singapore Citizenship
Hello,
I submitted by documents last Aug 2018 and interview was January 2019. I studied Masters at local uni, my brother did NS and parents are PR.
I wanted to know does it take 12 full months from the time of interview for the result to be made known?
Also, at any stage, does the ICA require the existing passport's scan of every page?
Thank you for your replies.

In some cases it takes even between 12-18 months for the result from the time of submission of documents. Why are you rushing?Onenessworld wrote: ↑Mon, 02 Sep 2019 3:49 pmHello,

Re: Chances of getting Singapore Citizenship
If you add yourself to their application, your current application will be withdrawn and there is a very good possibility that their applications may well be considered as a fresh application by adding yours to it. Why on earth did you not apply as a family?

How can you apply separately? Are you the Main Applicant in the PR applicant? Dont think so.Scott Jane wrote: ↑Wed, 04 Sep 2019 3:32 pmsingaporeflyer wrote: ↑Mon, 02 Sep 2019 12:14 pmSince, you didnt include yourself in the application, please wait. Even if you are earning well now and you apply separately it will end up negative as they will think why you didnt apply as a family unit? IS there any issues is what ICA will think?
