Hollywood Films / Movies

Post by harrison_allan » Wed, 22 Oct 2014 1:05 pm

Hi All,

May seem a little trivial, but...

Wondering if cinemas / movie theatres in Singapore show the full range of Western / Hollywood films that you would find in the US / Australia or if there is a heavy asian influence with very few English-language films (Such as in Hong Kong).

Are there some cinemas which specialise in Hollywood films? Or do all cinemas show these sorts of new releases?

Most Hollywood films would be shown in most theaters.
There would be Chinese subtitles for almost all of them. It is very rare that they won't and in my experience, I've only seen one movie without.
They will be censored to cater to the conservative tastes of the government.

How disappointing. Thank you.

Thankyou, great selection of films... I guess only seeing censored copies as if you were on a flight is the disappointing part.

Agreed. I rarely go to the cinema here for that very reason. Prefer to download and watch at home. In the case of iTunes, for example, you need to access a non Sg location. Don't give you your Aussie CC.
