How long to get citizenship for son born outside SG

I think it was about 6 weeks when I did it for my son (he was in Singapore at the time). ICA visit, fill forms, show original BC and parents NRIC and then called back to collect the Naturalisation Cert.

is your son eligible for citizenship by descent (meaning you or wife were born a singaporean and didn't acquire it through naturalization?)

because if you/wife were born a citizen, then it's a far simpler process.

The mother was a Singapore born citizen.

so that explains it, he is eligible for citizenship by descent. A much quicker procedure
