PM's comments about ISIS (Singaporean's feedback)

Post by Fortan » Sat, 18 Oct 2014 8:27 am

You probably all read what Mr. Lee said about Singapore and what his thoughts are on helping out on the fight against ISIS. I am on several fora here in Singapore and some of what the local Singaporeans are writing on the topic is absolutely disgusting me. The main thoughts seems to be: "Stop talking about this, we have way more important problems to solve here in Singapore"…… Are the locals here really THAT narrow-minded? Is the general thoughts here so self-centered…. I even read comments like: "Sort out the invasion of foreign talent before thinking about helping others"…..

Sorry, just had to get this off my chest :-|

If this is all you see on the fora then I am surprised. Positively. Judging from what could be seen here and in Malaysia soon after 9/11 I would expect bashing Americans and an open support for ISIS.

Maybe sort out the racism and homophobia first if you are not going to help out with ISIS.

Some internet dwellers in Singapore are beyond simple, I've had to-do's with a few in the past.

If there was a list of recommendations for expats in Singapore I'm sure one of the top ones would be 'avoid reading x local internet forums/news sources'. You will only drive yourself mad with the power of people in large groups. Avoidence is the best strategy.

+1
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late
