New condo - Sophia Residence

Postby Fortan » Thu, 16 Oct 2014 10:07 am

Been looking at this condo but only on the internet so far. Anyone live there already and care to share any thoughts on the place? For me to see you get a lot of value for your money. The units I have been looking at are sqf 1,432 and the asking price is 5,200-5,500. Will most likely end up on 4,700-5k.

300m from Plaza Singapura and Orchard and in walking distance of 3 MRT stations in 5 mins.

I though rentals were MUCH more expensive in close proximity to Orchard. What's the catch?

1. It is not a straight walk to Dhoby Ghaut and Little India stations. Too far to Bugis station. Expect 12 minutes of walking in realistic timing in either directions.

2. There is a huge construction going on for new Downtown Line MRT station at Selegie Road at the moment (I think it is called Bencoolen/Rochor station). Expect successive construction towards that condo's surroundings to connect two new stations (either Rochor-Bugis or Bencoolen-Jalan Besar).

3. Good thing is plenty, plenty of shops, supermarkets and restaurants around, right outside the condo.

I think JR8 said he lived there? He may have insight.
