One more suggestion: Smith Street Food Centre. As well as having all the hawker fare, it has 3 different stalls selling craft beer, bottled and on tap. Beer prices are not too bad - for craft beer.

Sounds like an option! Chinatown has 2 lines now too, so better to get to.

Smith Street/Viet 5/Sque/

Smith Street sounds like a good possibility as the food is probably a bit cheaper and surely a wider variety.

Any festivals that weekend that would make it overly mobbed?

Sounds like a great time! Good Beer Company (02-58) at Smith Street was one of our go to places for great beer and Daniel, the owner, is just a really great guy….Plus the garlic fish head stall right next door is awesome! Just remember to bring some Lysol wipes for the tables - the preponderance of fish and chicken bones left on the tables is beyond gross at this particular hawker center….Thanks for the walk down memory lane….

Congratulations to Steve and Mrs. Steve, and good luck to Nutnut. Wish I could be there to share a beer or three with y'all. Promises to be a good night and I look forward to reading reports of the gathering.

All the best to everyone!

Honestly, I'd vote for Sque. But if the majority chooses others, I'm OK.

From having a look at Sque website, the happy hour is from 11am - 7pm and 9pm - 11pm. Therefore, 2 hours of prime drinking time you will be paying between $14.80++ to $20++ for a beer!???

I vote Smith Street. I refuse to pay so much!

Suggestions for venue with easy access and inexpensive drinks please....

Well, we've got three who want Smith Street, two for Sque (who are also okay wherever) and nobody else seems to care, so I'm gonna call it Smith Street Food Centre (but I worry about seating). As I've never been there what am I looking for? Any place in particular?

The stall named Good Beer Company.

By the way, I may not be able to make it. Sorry.

The Good Beer Company
#02-58 Chinatown Complex 335 Smith St Singapore 050335+65 9430 2750

For variety's sake there are two more craft beer sellers within 50 feet of this stall.

To find the place, make sure you are on the extreme Smith Street side of China Town Complex, city facing.

Keep your strength up Lynx! Hope you can make it.
