Disable ?

Years ago when the Motorolla 9800X was the in-thing, I used the spectrum analyzer used for sat-locating, and used to 'listen' to snippets of chats :D :D Yeah, evil me ..

though you only get like 5 second talks, before the frequency switches !!

Uber has been known to side step a lot of these regulations and they will continue to do so. I bet they'll be here to stay - and that's a good thing actually. I use Uber cause they don't have the regualar 10% surcharge like the taxis when you pay by card and the fact that you don't have to worry about coins and small change (which is ridiculous for the taxi driver to not have).

There's no way I am getting in car driven by a potential criminal (Uber drivers have been accused of rape already in the USA), uninsured (once again happening in other Uber territories) or where they flout the law (as in Singapore) and leave a passenger without recourse to a regulatory body.
I not lawyer/teacher/CPA.

Rape incident is in India not USA. Singapore taxi drivers do not insure the passengers as well. Flout the law? How so?

Then again, I guess it's personal preference.

It's a sensible preference. I have no desire to go back to pirate taxis.

Boston Uber Driver Charged with Raping and Kidnapping a Passenger
That's Boston, Massachusetts (USA) not Boston, Maharashtra.

Whatever, Uber cannot guarantee anything... whereas in Singapore if a Taxi driver tries to rape me, mugs me, absconds with my money, abuses me by taking a long cut etc.... I can complain to LTA. Uber will just fob me off.

Right. The reply was aimed at the guy playing off the rape like it only happened because it was in India.

I'm not saying Uber is better than taxis in every aspect, but it does provide a viable competitor to tip the scales of taxi pricing monopoly. Sure, if you guys feel safer and more comfortable taking a taxi - go ahead. To me, UberX is providing some real competition to the monopoly that the Taxi companies have created and UberExec and UberLarge are just simple ways I can hire a Limo or a 6-seater without making a single call. Cheers.

So how much are Uber paying you for this obvious SEO/Guirella marketing?

I'll give you some SEO help.

UBER = RAPE

UBER = PIRACY

UBER = RIP OFF

Hahaha. It's such a pity that you think I am sponsored in any way to promote this in a closed forum that cannot be accessed by Google bots. Why are you so repulsive? I'm not even flaming you or anything.

You really don't know too much about forums, do you. What makes you think this is a closed forum? We let you in didn't we? And this is a Expat website as well, not TRE/TRS/TOC etc. We have google bots crawling here 24 hours a day every day.
