But perhaps there is nothing rational in it as with many things related to Singapore cars and taxi drivers.
Dunno. Only know it happens more than it should.

And I call 'em out on it when it goes beyond the point of fairness.

I doubt that. It's just a symbolic crack down to keep people happy. They have a big office here; if government wanted them gone they could just raid the office.

It's like Orchard Towers. Sure ICA blocks random girls coming into the country here or there, but show up and Ipanema and it is still packed to the gils with working girls. If they *Wanted* to stop it,it would be as easy as just shutting down the bars.

So to use uber you call them or utilize some application, uber drover comes ove and the LTA officers managed to catch only two guys over 7 months? Yep, sounds convincing.

For a moment's I thought you were talking About the touts permanently stationed outside Towers ....

I suspect LTA is ensuring that something like the days of pirate taxis don't return, i.e. foreigners taking up taxi driving ..

I noticed at Harbourfront by MacD there are taxi touts there now. Becoming like KL or Madrid?

If you are talking about the neatly-dressed men over there (I can't really say "well-dressed" in this context :P ), these are the staff from the "limousine" services operating from the Harbourfront cruise centre. But I would have thought that they would have gotten passengers from their counters inside, and not touting at the taxi queue.

No, i meant as an example of half-assed enforcement.

A friend was at the Towers a few weeks back on a Friday night. Reckoned there were 4 guys to every girl. Perhaps the enforcement is stepping up?

Amid the concerns raised by some Members of Parliament (MPs) last week
Where can I read the minutes of the debate, or do they all read "I agree; yes I agree too, yeah me too"?

Today in parliament, channel 5.

Hansard

Bgd, nearing any large event ICA tries to stem the inflow (and innocents too get refused entry, in the melee...)

Sea games are around the corner, FYI

Maybe that's the reason for stepped up enforcement

As for the intention of the girls, when they arrive, ICA or any immigration can get hoodwinked easily

Like how a friend gave a passionate speech when the US embassy doubted her, for for a temporary stay in USA, and she got her visa and as soon as she landed she found a fiance' ...
