Nothing to lose by applying.

At least the whole family is here which should be a plus.

With the wind on your favour you might have a chance, however in the current climate you might need to have a longer stay in order to get over the line.
Life is short, paddle harder!!

Children. How many? Gender? If sons, will they be on the PR applications? If yes, go ahead and give it a try, but don't hold your breath. I just don't think it is strong enough primarily due to ethnicity. If you apply as a family you will stand the best chance and you both have been here long enough. If rejected, you will know it's not going to happen as you both already meet the minimum time and tax requirements. So yeah, go ahead and try and you might get lucky and if it's a rejection with something besides "you are welcome to stay here on your Employment Pass...." written the rejection letter, it would mean all is not lost just yet. But if it has that phrase in it. It's not going to happen.
