Documents required for Singapore EP Collection from MOM

Post by tommytan » Mon, 06 Oct 2014 3:49 pm

Hello all,

Recently my employer is applying EP to MOM. the HR sent me an email to say MOM may need some documents when collecting EP from MOM. One of them is each university qualification certificate and past employment testimonials....there is no problem with the certificates but i have worked for 10 years for 3 different employers. Do I need to go back and request references form each of them......I went to the MOM official website but din see this. Only see this in the agency website.....Anyone who works for few years and in the situation that MOM wants each of past employment testimonials when collecting EP??? or this is just optional supporting documents? Please advise.....

I doubt you'll need any additional documents, besides your IPA letter and passport to identify yourself. That is, UNLESS the IPA or accompanying documents themselves say you need to bring something.

with a few more fake certificates being caught after the candidate has been working here, and a guy who faked his past experience being the news, I won't be surprised if MOM wants you see past testimonials

A long time ago, maybe 15 years, my previous employer stopped providing what might regarded as a job reference or testimonial. Instead what it would provide was minimal:
Dates of employment
Position
Salary

So IME providing something like a testimonial is all pretty rather last century. Plus consider that gathering together these references and certs could take months, or simply not be possible. IME the government departments tell you what they might want to see before you show up for your appointment, so I'd refer to that letter than relying on what your HR says you might need.
