There are three major stock exchanges: the NYSE, American Stock Exchange, and NASDAQ. There is also a new all electronic exchange whose name I cannot remember.

If you're not looking for brokerage advice then the cheapest way to make trades is via online brokerages like E-Trade. Start up cash is small, and trade costs are low.

I have no use for "full service" brokerage firms so I will not mentione any.

Where does one trade the US OTC market?
Do the online trader cater for this?

Thanks.
