No, that would be bigamy (unless you are both muslim).

What's the issue with her giving birth unmarried? Oh I guess no red pp for the baby? I think you can get around that these days.

Doubtful - even then it won't solve his problem as ICA is unlikely to recognize it as a legitimate 'muslim' marriage. The MUIS has pretty strict criteria on polygamous marriages and is not readily recognizing quicky polygamous marriages across the border.

I don't recommend lying to the government as it is illegal. However...

No, has your girlfriend done anything in Singapore that would tell the government she is married? For example, has she applied for any pass from ICA or MOM and indicated married? If not, they have no idea. No one outside Vietnam will have any clue unless your gf / future wife has told them.

I was going to say what ZZM said... I am not advocating anything illegal... I am informing you of how things work... if your girlfriend has not given any document or made any application in Singapore where she says she is married, then Singapore will not know that she is married. They will not ask Vietnam for marriage information, and even if they did, Vietnam records are spread all over the place and it would be very difficult for them to provide the information.

A little money makes anything really easy in Vietnam.

That said, have you considered just paying someone off in Vietnam to expedite the divorce? S$300 or so and you'll have it done in an hour, with officially stamped English transcriptions.
