That's really sad! He helped me quite a few times on this forum in my initial years here. May his soul rest in peace.

Sad news. First time I met KSL in person was with SMS at the inaugural Eagles Gathering in that CC in Kovan. A lovely man who'll be greatly missed. I'm going to have a glass of drinking vinegar in his honour tonight.

His ticker was bad and he also got Hep C so went back to the UK to use NHS there for cost reasons (also ex-military). They put him on steroids and he blew up like a balloon (I saw a photo of him when he first came back to Singapore earlier this year in June but was only here for a little while, returning to the UK in late July. He had complications and his systems just couldn't cope with it any longer. He leaves a much younger Singaporean wife and a primary school aged girl (he also has three adult children in the UK/Europe from his previous marriage).

Bloody Hep C. Probably from people double dipping their chopsticks (which is why I no longer share bowls of food with chopsticks - they pick up food with sticks, put them in their mouth and then put the chopsticks back in the same bowl!). Had a friend whose dad died that way (HK guy - he switched to knife and fork and ala carte - no more shared food).

Hep. A spreads like this, hep C is almost exclusively spread by blood to blood infections (poorly sterilized medical stuff, needles, transfusions etc.).
