'Malaysian man to paddle his way through the peninsula coast for a cause
One man will embark on a solo kayaking journey of over 2,000km along the Peninsular Malaysian coast to raise awareness about our fragile shorelines that are undergoing rapid development.
'Hari Raju will begin his journey in Pengkalan Kubur, Kelantan, tomorrow, thereafter heading south towards Johor and then backing up towards Perlis.
He is expected to take over two months to complete the expedition called Paddle For Nature, and will arrive at his destination in Langkawi on Nov 21.'
---------------------------------------------------------------------------
Hell of a journey and a hell of a cause.
IMHO could have done without the inappropriately steep minimum donations, but there you go.

Is he? Nice!
It's interesting how he has a camera rigged up on his boat, so he can do a marine version of a 'Google Streetview' of the entire coast (peninsular MY + islands). And indeed Google are one of his sponsors...

Yes, good stuff.
Live tracking would have been awesome. Very doable nowadays. Piece of cake for Google eh.
But yeah, great project.

Well, the Malaysia Star article says he has it, and that you can GPS-track him, but I can't find any link, despite some quite serious digging around...
Maybe I'll ask my friends up in Tioman...

To round it off, he should do a daily blog, report back on the sights of the day. I'm sure he's going to have regular close encounters with the local wildlife, as well as, alas, examples of coastal destruction.
Backing by Google. How awesome is that?

Let's hope he doesn't get done by pirates...
