Comparing local and international schools

Post by VicStan » Fri, 29 Aug 2014 12:07 am

Hi, we are an American family that have just moved to Singapore a month ago.

I have a pair of twins and daughter and I am looking at which schools to enroll them in at the moment.

They have a lot of spare time and we have been advised by friends to start them on lessons so we have tutors for basically every subject as we heard that is the norm, especially for kids in local schools.

After hearing those words, I am very hesitant to put my child in local schools as I do not want them to feel too overwhelmed.

Anyone here experienced both systems and have any advice?

Would appreciate your help, thank you!

If you have the funds put your kids in a not for profit International School. Although the local school system is ok it's not the best for expats for a whole bunch of reasons IMO.
