SC Application - Employment Info

Post by kevintong85 » Sun, 17 Aug 2014 11:12 pm

Was browsing through details on SC application and noticed this annex on employment information with details such as name of company, no of staff under supervision, company's paid up capital and company existing staff strength.

Pretty curious on factors pertaining to company's paid up capital and staff strength, as I currently work in a startup company with fewer than 10 employees, though the company itself is a subsidiary of a much larger organization.

Does anyone have a better picture on how much impact these would have on SC application? Thanks!

Primarily to ensure the company employing you is not itself a vehicle created solely to aid others with immigration matters. For example, Rich guy(s) create a small company to get him/themselves EPs, PRs, etc. My assumption is this is less of a concern on the SC-citizenship level, and more prevalent at the EP/PR level. I would personally assume the SC citizenship weighs other (more individual) factors much more heavily.

I'm sure they also check out other things about the company just to make sure it is in compliance with various other rules and regulations.

Thanks zzm for the quick insight.

I had a concern because startups being startups, the paidup capital and revenue for past years will definitely be much lesser than large corporations. Furthermore, the Annex has range options on the number of employees of the company, so my initial thought was possibly a more established company would be given a heavier weight, all else equals.

And of course, I was also wondering the need of those company details as my taxes would have reflected that, and obviously the company should be registered in ACRA...
