Are our beloved Subconn regulars posting in Reddit?`
I didn't read all of that but it struck me as very sad that there are so many people who wish they weren't the way they are, skin colour or otherwise.
One experience that drove me to tears many years ago was when we lived in the USA and I took my young daughter to a playground. Another little girl, who was black, came up to me and after looking at me and my daughter said "I so wish I was white." It just broke my heart and I couldn't form the words to answer her properly. I really wish I could wind back the clock and properly articulate what I wanted to say to her at the time.

Be careful what you wish for

To be honest, sometimes I wish I was born the right race in my country of origin (or probably in the right country), so that I didn't have to lose opportunity just because of state-mandated racism and lack of meritocracy.
My point is that, there are a lot of things you cannot change that's inherent or circumstantial. I guess it is up to us to make the best of the worst, and to reclaim what was lost in better years.

At least you're not going to be asked why Chinese Malaysians are so 'rapey'.the lynx wrote:To be honest, sometimes I wish I was born the right race in my country of origin (or probably in the right country), so that I didn't have to lose opportunity just because of state-mandated racism and lack of meritocracy.
