I still think Changi Airport is one of the stand-out plus points that Singapore has to offer - given that many people have to fly a lot for business reasons, it is a joy to use compared to most other airports around the world. This is why I listed it as one of the (very few) things I miss about Singapore a while back.
The new development will add more 'garden' areas between the terminals, so it will continue to be a damn sight nicer than (for example) Heathrow, as someone else commented. However I do hate the cynical 'pseudo-green' BS that gets inserted into these kinds of PR execises:
Project Jewel will connect the all three of Changi’s terminals via all-glass walkways, and will include green walls to offset the emissions from the planes overhead.
Wow, that's amazing - you stick a few plants in the walls and it neutralises all the CO2 from the planes flying to/from Singapore. Who'd a thunk it?
