My opinion .... utter waste of money.

who wants an airport as a lifestyle destination.

Although if it keeps.folk out of the city then it maybe a good idea.

It already is though. Plenty of people use Changi for shopping and a food destination.

Guilty as charged. We go there just for a meal every so often. Shopping no. But there are a few decent makan places.

So funny, Business Insider is taking the news from AsiaOne, who is taking the news from The Straits Time.

Don't you need a ticket to get into the main malls... er... terminals?

Large sections are open to the non-flying public, in T3 IIRC, where the giant slide was (is it still there?).

T2 check-in area has quite a few eating establishments.

T3 basement is basically a smaller heartland-mall. Same set of shops and such, including a 24/7 Raffles Clinic. It also has other eating establishments scattered about.

I'll admit to using the Raffles Clinic at T3 (without flying somewhere). It has a lot of convenient parking and lesser crowds and traffic to reach it.

There is no admission fee to get to the area where these attractions are located. I used to take my kids to play on the (paid) giant slide, doodling / play area and ride on those huge inflatable animals.

It's all part of the government's secret 2030 Plan - to convert Singapore into one gigantic shopping mall. They're clearly ahead of schedule.

LOL

btw, when I was working in Tampines, sometimes we hold department lunches in T2 or T3 when they had a Lebanese restaurant

Tampines to Changi by bus 27 is pretty fast!!!!
