Occupational Therapist

Post by S999 » Tue, 05 Aug 2014 3:56 pm

Hi there
Does anyone have any experience of a good OT in Singapore? It is for my 6 year old son who has been having therapy for the last two years in the UK. He has some sensory issues and low muscle tone. He is much improved but we would like to continue with the therapy.
Your help is much appreciated.
Thanks so much.

I volunteer for a non profit organization and the OTs in the rehab center there are excellent !!!!

if you are are going for private therapy I am sure you can get the best!!!

fret not!

Thank you so much for your message. I think I will start with Dynamics, we have an assessment there and I think the service they provide will be similar to what my son has been having in the UK.
Thanks so much, all advice is much appreciated!

Hi! Just wanted to give you my 2 cents about Dynamics.

My friends from Dubai came to visit during the holidays and booked Dynamics for 1 month + in advance for a period of 2 months.

They mentioned that they paid quite a bit for it and was expecting quality from them. I believe when they mention quite a bit, it should be pretty high as they are used to paying $200/hour for tutors. However, they mentioned that the result they got wasn't good at all and they were very disappointed.

She didnt go into detail and I didnt want to pry but.. just something to consider before you jump into it.

Vic

Hi VicSTan

Thank you for your PM, I can't reply as apparently I haven't posted enough yet! I am really keen to hear from you especially regarding your tutor recommendations. I am trying out a couple for Maths but I have yet to find anyone for Chinese, please would you mind Pm-ing me with their contact details? Hopefully I will be able to reply to you.
My kids are at Dulwich College, which so far has been outstanding. They are so so happy there. Have you considered this as an option for your children?
Thank you for your message, I will reply via PM as soon as I can!
BTW Dynamics has been working out pretty well for my son, I think it obviously depends on the therapist, ours is pretty good and yes, it is very expensive. I haven't block booked sessions, I'm going to trial it for a few more months.
Many thanks
