My first 4 years here I didn't have a car, but after getting a job in Changi I decided I needed one as I live the west side of Clementi.

Interestingly I had to pay the ERP on Clementi 6 for the first time today. It went from nothing last week to $2 between 7:30 and 9:30am. Ouch.

I do recall reading about changes to ERP rates and timings on the AYE. A quick check showed that it didn't apply to weekends, when I use the AYE, so I didn't read any further.

I actually often manage to do some targeted shopping within the grace period (10 min) but I go to the malls because I have to. Hate all the crowded places.

just googled...

Generally most URA carparks are free after 5pm on weekdays and on Sundays, and most HDB carparks are free on Sundays. However, there are always exceptions to the rule, so remember to check the sign at the carpark before you leave just to make sure you don’t end up with a $30 summon.
