buying speaker systems in Singapore

Can anyone recommend the names of the best stores in town to purchase a 5.1 surround sound home speaker system? Particularly I'm interested in the Elac Cinema systems but I'm open to other brands too.

There is a stereophile mall opposite the Funan IT mall (actually connected by an elevated walkway). Lots of shops selling all of your stereo needs.

Just to addon, the building is call Adelphi. There are many high-fidelity systems shops there.

Demo the KEF and Jamo system if you're going after small package. Besides Adelphi, Sim Lim Square also boost 2 store on ground floor with good bargains.

For floor standing, try B&W or Wharfedale Diamond 8 series.

Better still, go buy the Dec copy of What HiFi from UK which list out all the awards for hifi stuff. I based my purchasing decision from this magazine since there's no way to compare demo in store and at home.

Demo rooms at Adelphi are fully foam and insulated. What you hear may not be reproduce at home due to sonic differences.
