currently holding WP able to change to student pass?

Hello good afternoon.
Im currently holding WP for 1 years and my pass will over next year.
I graduate diploma in finance at 2013.
it was private school called kaplan.
when i was graduate i don have enough support to go to degree so i decide to work for a while during my family gathering money and i gather by my self also.
Now i am ready and i try to apply dec semester but school told me that it is not easy to get student pass in my situation.
I ask them whats the problem they said it is because

When i study my attendance was perfect and in current work place i only take 1 time MC. I never change work place and didnt cause any problem.... of course don have crime record... and now my financial statement also okay.

is it really cause problems because i holding wp?
