Adds against gambling and casinos being build and more to come. Standards are good but double standards are twice as good....

The visions I have of them (those 'staffs' that dreamt up the ad) praying that Germany would NOT win, at 4am, as the clock ticked down minute by minute really make me laugh. One of the original ads was posted somewhere I pass every day - how the tension rose day by day in the run-up, yet they never seemed to register the risk of the coming PR issue until it happened...

And then how they must have had a super-crisis-meeting over what to do...

Back home in such a situation, the mess-up, if it happened, would have been addressed with irony. Here it is amended with a blank face. Maybe that's why I'm not persuaded (i.e. 'when you've already dug yourself a hole, stop digging!).

I suspect they'll be a little more cautious next time they're implying predictions...

Wah, 'Daddy bet all of my money on Singapore to win!'

- Guaranteed not to win
- Clear suggestion of 'Daddy having a significant (if not delusional) problem'
- Patriotic too though, strikes a chord in the Heartlands.
- Even plausible

I still think the new ad is a good move though! If you're thinking from community service advertisement perspective, they really meant to drive the message home against gambling.
