Why not together with her as well? Your application forms require her details and documents anyway.

And I think you should wait for 2 REP renewals before considering to apply.

So while you're looking for positive comments, I can only say that your chance is negative. Sorry.

Actually I would like to know why too. Didn't know HDB ownership has something in play in this...

If they don't already own a HDB I'm guessing they want to but with the new 3 year PR rule that came in last August they now don't qualify for at least another year or so. Therefore to get around this the OP wants to try for Citizenship which will allow them to buy a HDB. The Gahmen will realise this as there's been a flood of Citizenship applications since the new rule.

If they already own a HDB then his chances are higher of being successful.

Buying a house does not seem like a good reason to want citizenship of a country!
Maybe for you. But for many people who do come to Singapore from other less prosperous locations financial benefits are the primary driver. You can try to tell the official at ICA nicely that you're not one of those people and maybe they'll take your word for it.

If they have to wait 3 years to buy a resale flat as a PR, once the get SC they can buy new from the HDB without any waiting period (provided they can find one to buy where they desire) with the subsidies available to Citizens as well. Considerable savings then.

singh86,

Sadly, all you have succeeded in accomplishing by deleting your opening post, is showing us, once again, why a lot of you are so despised here. Trying to erase your tracks after you didn't the the answer you wanted is childish, to say the least. We have a lot of long time Indian regulars here who are just as aggravated at the attitudes of their countrymen as the rest of us. This is why we've gotten into the habit of quoting the opening post so the thread doesn't turn to garbage, thereby leaving only the OP to look like garbage.
