Where is it best to buy Swiss Franc

Post by ArtFool » Thu, 12 Jun 2014 11:16 am

Hi Guys. It's nice to have registered here.

I'm not sure if this post is on the right place.

I just need your advice esp. from our local Singaporeans who already have gone to Switzerland.

I will be there in the last week June up to early September for a job training.

Just want to know, where is it best to buy Swiss Francs, is it here or in there?
And is it just the same if I buy USD first and use that USD to buy the francs? Does that have any advantage?

I completely have no idea. :(

Thanks in advance guys.

Never been to Switzerland yet. But you can change SGD to CHF in Singapore. The Arcade in Raffles Place is the most reputable place to have SGD changed to many currencies.

You can check the rates online and see if the rates seem alright to you.

Since CHF is readily available here, I see no need to change into USD and changing it again to CHF. You will lose some through multiple conversions, especially when the spread is very wide between SGD-USD-CHF.

you get the best quality swiss francs in Switzerland, francs used to be sold in France before but it kinda rhymed with France so they got rid of it. but yeah Switzerland is where you have to go though for the best ones.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

Does it have pseudoephedrine? That's prob what makes you high. Some buy it to synthesize methamphetamine.

you are singaporean. therefore, you will be worried that your cash will be quickly taken off your body if you fall asleep somewhere en route to switzerland. that will bring you immense shame and embarrassment.

let's avoid that, my dear singaporean.

1. go to chinatown and change sufficient money to last you a few weeks or until you get your documents to open a bank account in switzerland.

note: you will not need more than 10k CHF to get started on accommodation, etc, seeing that you are being trained.

2. go to your local/singapore bank, make an international cheque out to yourself for the rest of the money you think you will need. bring that document to the swiss bank and deposit it into your new account.

don't worry too much or over think this. you are not changing so much money that the rate difference will amount to anything substantial.

oh, if you are still being paid in singapore, then...

3. remember to bring your singapore internet banking token to switzerland so you can transfer money to yourself if you need more money... or um, just send the details to your parents and they can do the same on your behalf.

good luck. enjoy the arabs and pizza. just kidding...

i think.
