If you're bringing your own beds.

p.s. People need to be aware of and cautious re: US vs Rest of World sized bedding, as they're not the same. For anyone that needs to consider this further, look at say the IKEA websites in the various countries (US, UK, DE, SG etc., as appropriate) and compare the bed-linen sizes. There's no point turning up in SG, renting a furnished place, and having brought a carton of US sized bedding.

Beds For a good size and in expensive , there's Ikea. Otherwise most beds are less than 2metres in length...its ok if you are not 1.9m tall.
Mattresses the same thing. Cost a bomb for longer ones.

Clothes, there's M & S but of course more expensive than in Europe. H&M here does not carry anything beyond size 42 for some weird reason.

Deodorants, sunblocks, mozzi repellents -you can find inexpensive ones from shops like CK in the heartlands.
Marmite you can get it in supermarkets here. I grew up on Marmite here in Singapore.

the prices of razor blades here are somewhat outrageous, especially if you use Gillette products, I didn't find them this price worthy as say any of the other razor brands.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late

For the Schick blades I used, it was cheaper to order them from Amazon in the US and ship directly to Singapore. If I sent them to someone in the US and had them re-send with other aggregated packages, it was significantly cheaper. I would do this, along with items like deodorant sticks and shoes, every few months.

That is what I usually do. Order my Headblade products (shaving cream, blades and moisturizer and have it added to tri-packs of deodorant and Old Bay seasoning. Saves significantly on postage.

You mean in terms of price, or? :o

Ditto for skincare products and make-up. If you have a favourite brand, stock it up.

But please remember that the formulation of the same product is different between those manufactured for Asian market and those for Western market. You will find that your favourite products might be too gooey for long-term use for this hot and humid weather. Not sure how it badly (or quickly) the climate will affect the products but I had a friend who had to bin hers because they got ruined in Singapore tropical weather after a long period of time. If yours can survive tropical weather, by all means stock it up.

I'll have to dig it out or maybe you can Google it, but I came across an article in the past 2-3 weeks about a way to not replace your blades so often, or almost never, by using a piece of denim to keep the blades sharp.

$15-20 for 10 replacement G2 blades is just stoopid. They are like the printer ink of personal products.

Razors are expensive and so is shave gel, so bring along some of that.

Also, the facial cream/day cream/night cream (as others mentioned) is formulated for Asians. It's a challenge to find something on the shelf that doesn't say "whitening" or "lightening." Many times I'll see brands I recognize from the USA such as Eucerin, Loreal, Nivea, Garnier, etc and they all say that stuff on them, both for men and women's products. But for all I know, they might not work the way they claim to (kind of like anti-wrinkle creams).

I found it humorous when I first got to Singapore that many Asians want lighter skin. So many white people want a tan so they don't look "washed-out."

I just bought a tube at guardian for 3 bucks without any prescription (but did need to give IC number to pharmacist)
