you will be surprised by the number of other forum members that know more than a little something about property... singapore and elsewhere.

don't get your hopes up re: SPR for your husband. just plan for the LTVP and go on from there. if you somehow manage to conjure up residency for him in 6 months, then it's a bonus.

stay away from shoeboxes. don't use a typical singaporean mentality to only buy near mrt stations because they are fool proof. size matters, as does your budget and debt planning.

Have you considered the Malaysia My Home program? Buy a nice place in Iskandar and get a visa for your hubby that way. You will be close to your family but have a lot less to spend.

I think I will need to query more with IRAS or property agent. Just unsure as I am not first timer as I bought new HDB flat before and sold it 4 years ago. So I don't own any Singapore property now. Not sure if it meant currently owned? Or owned before but sold?
Thank u;) all of u are very helpful, knowledgable and kind;)
1st property base on currently owned.

Previous owned not consider.

But take note, as you have own first HDB unit, purchase direct from HDB.
When you purchase BTO unit as second timer.
You will be subjected to resale levy.

Resale levy range from 15k to 50k depend on what type of the 1st HDB unit you had.
And had to include all these 4 yrs interest.

Base on my understanding, resale levy need to pay in cash. Cannot use CPF

I'd be surprised if you're still eligible for any form of HDB grant etc but I could be wrong.

Look in the unusual places for bargains in the private market.
Singaporean are given 2 time of HDB grants, just that need to pay resale levy if apply for second HDB grants
