We just want to alert you to the fact that by willingly giving up your PR (by leaving the country without a valid REP) you also forgo your long-term future in Singapore, which you alluded to in your first post (by mentioning jobsearch afterwards).
You can call that hard-hearted, but it's a fact, and we think you're rather short-sighted to give up the chance of residing in a place where you spent most of your life just for a one-day trip.
Of course if you have alternative plans for life, or other reasons for giving up residence in Singapore, please feel free to go ahead. (But don't complain afterwards!)
