I hate it when I move to a country and then able find my name on Google on a ton of websites that record personal information.
Does this happen after moving to Singapore?
What about company owners, are those registered on any websites?

No. In fact there are some regulations around publication of such records I believe.

Everybody can pretty much check all your registered data just by knowing (and entering at the right places) your NRIC number. Since that number is openly used in many places (e.g. when getting a bank account, library card, entering a lucky draw, subscribing at a fitness club, registering a product for warranty, etc. etc.) it is not possible to keep it confidential.
All business registration data (incl. owners, etc.) is openly available too, but at a small fee (S$5 when I checked last).
There is also no privacy law to speak of in Singapore. But things work pretty well - at least the authorities do not pretend about some confidentiality and then break all their own rules through an NSA or similar!

You can ask Google to take certain stuff down. Depending on the particulars, they do honor these requests.

if you have a local land line, your name and address and phone number will be listed in the online directory.

Neither me nor my wife are listed, presumably there is an option at subscription to be 'ex-directory' ?

After I saw the OP's post I googled my NRIC number - nothing at all came up.

I wanted just Internet and no phone service, last I checked I had to get a land line to get Internet. It's a waste of money when I already have two phones on mobile service.

Can you name me some sites where I can do this NRIC lookup? I want to ask a friend to lookup his NRIC and see what he finds about himself..
Also, which site has the company lookup for S$5 ?

Also, I'm wondering can you (or anyone) find out personal information on anyone living in Singapore?
Take Eduardo Saverin who moved to Singapore:
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Eduardo_Saverin
Can you look up his information somewhere? Believe it or not, this is easy in many other countries which I don't like.
