Hi, my family will be moving out of singapore mid-june but our last day of work will be by the end of this month (may). I am in the process of looking for a new employer for my Filipino maid. Our EP's will be cancelled on our last day of work (May 30), can our maid still stay with us and just transfer to the new employer when we leave? I couldn't find any information on this from the MOM website or perhaps I'm not doing enough research.
Just hoping someone here has a similar experience.

The key thing is your maid needs to have at least 30 days validity on her WP at the time the new employer submits the WP transfer. So it should be fine provided your maid's WP expiry is 10 July or later. When she/you find the new employer, the transfer can be submitted by WPOnline in early June (should be within 2 weeks of the desired transfer date = mid june). Yes, look a bit harder on the MOM website for the FDW change of employer process.

Her WP is valid until early 2015. Just to clarify, if our pass is cancelled, she can still stay with us as long as her transfer application is submitted to MOM and WP is still valid?

Ah, this part I'm not completely certain. I guess the situation must arise often when expats leave here, so am sure someone on here must know.... I will be interested to hear the answer too !

I believe the law states that a transfer must be applied for no less than 30 days before the departure of the employer. I would double check with mom/your agency/Anisya that it means physical departure not just legal one.

I told her to ask the agency that is facilitating her transfer and they said this should be okay but I'm a little skeptic because you know how maid agencies sometimes twists the truth if it benefits them

I had a look around MOM website and couldn't find anything either. Absence of any clear restriction/condition seems it should be okay, but I would also be a little uneasy if it was me... Might need to call MOM if you want a definitive answer ?
I could see a logic that the FDW permit get's automatically cancelled if the employer's right to stay is cancelled, because it will be hard for the Govt to feel assured the employer will follow all their obligations to pay the maid, cpf levy, repatriate the maid etc etc if only here on social visit pass. But then again that is also the reason they have a $5,000 bond that will be forfeited if the employer leaves without fulfilling these obligations. Anyway I am just speculating, pls report back here if you do check on this with MOM

Called MOM yesterday. As long as her work permit is valid until the actual date of transfer she can still stay with us even if our EPs are cancelled. We just need to ensure that the bank account used to pay her levy has sufficient funds.

A question for your insurance company I guess. As a matter of interest, your STVP does have your FIN on it, so perhaps the FIN is still active?
