Changing passport while out of country

Post by ludwig12 » Sun, 04 May 2014 2:42 pm

I will be taking two weeks holiday in June to my home country and I am thinking to taking advantage of the 24 hour express passport service that is only available in country v.s. 3 weeks processing time if I go to the embassy in Singapore.

Questions I have are:

1. Would it be a problem returning to Singapore since I will be entering with a new passport? I will still have my previous passport(corner clipped) and can update the new passport number via EPonline prior to my return.

2. Will it be a problem with the airlines to have a different passport number on the return trip? I can't call them now as I will not be able to know what the new passport number is until I get it.

Appreciate anyone who may have done it in recent years to share their experience. Thanks.

Caring your old passport (provided the details match) should get you through.
