SYLLABUS IN INTERNATIONAL SCHOOL

Post by red_cherries76 » Sat, 03 May 2014 12:04 pm

Hi all, my son is currently studying in year 5 of a local school I will be pulling him out and enrolling him into a International School in JB. However, I am only aware of the local syllabus..

May i ask :

Is the local syllabus and international school syllabus very different ? Which is tougher ?

I have seen kids in American school different in terms of behaviour compared to UK schools,, which is better ? I don't want my son to become a brat.

Please advise, I am not sure should i enrol him into a international school here or JB..

Just out of curiosity, which school has kids that are more bratty? The American one or British one?

I don't think you'll find any patterns along those lines. Instead you should probably concentrate more on the educational system, as both schools follow a different syllabus.

But you said your child is currently studying Year 5 here so is it a local Singaporean school or local Malaysian school?
It wasn't clear from your posts to the forum regulars here who are trying to help to tell you if it is a huge difference in syllabus.

Whether a child is a brat or not is determined by the parents and how they have raised (or outsourced) their children, not by the nationality. Haven't you noticed the rich Asian children in Singapore who have been raised by their nannies?

If cost is your problem, enrolling him in Malborough in JB would be better. If you're gonna enrol him in International School here, you may as well keep your child in local school.

And no, bratty children is not determined by American or British education system but by parents/nannies who bring them up and discipline them. I've seen bratty Chinese kids as much as bratty Indian, American, British, Filipino, Malay, Inuit, Japanese, Korean, (insert nationality you like here), etc. Rich and poor. No difference.
