The older I get, things and events just seem to become more mundane. Don't get as easily excited anymore. Age also provides wisdom.

Mastering a recipe, as there is nothing like the satisfaction of good home cooked food.

Doesn't matter if it's something complex like beef rendang, or simpler like pancakes.

http://www.bbcgoodfood.com/recipes/3374 ... t-pancakes

...add in some fried slices of banana, or fried-off chopped apple with a few sultanas and a bit of cinnamon. Roll up 2-3 of those. A squeeze of chocolate sauce on top + a scoop of good vanilla ice cream on the side.

Damn I'm making myself happy just thinking about it :)

- Add a splash of rum to the filling before rolling them up, and I'd be positively thrilled

As I get older the appeal of both fades... to be replaced by what?

Although my ginger cat cheers me up.

Sorry, have I cracked that one before?

[I rather like the analogy of this forum and 'It aint half hot mum'... I think there is a lot of cross-over :)]. Just ponder for a moment who you would cast as whom ... hehe...
