Bread (Organic, Wheat / Gluten Free, Dairy Free, Soy Free)

Post by farlene » Wed, 16 Apr 2014 9:15 am

I have been trying to get the hang of going "clean".

I can find mostly anything "free" from something anywhere save for bread. I live in the east and there's really nothing.

I bought a loaf of rice bread (free gluten-soy-dairy) from the Market Place which cost me $11 and it taste like cardboard. Yucks!

Any chance anyone knows where I can get some proper bread? Would appreciate.

This probably isn't the answer you're looking for, but maybe you could look up a recipe online and try and bake something yourself.

This link might also be of help:

I've found that speciality items can be tough to find in Singapore, although probably not impossible.

Hi farlene, I bake my own bread, using organic unbleach flour, organic brown sugar, sea salt, olive oil, and whatever milk powder that I can find at home. Happy to bake a loaf for you if you like. I'm living in the east too.

hey tobias, thank you for interested in my bread.
no no no..not selling at the moment just in case you might not like it.
it is just a very basic organic bread. texture wise is abit 'dense', as it doesnt have any chemicals that make it light and fluffy like those breads you buy in shops.
i'm happy to bake one for you to try. if you really really like it, we can talk about 'business' then.
not baking in the next two weeks cos my place is under renovation.
drop me a line if you are still keen to try then.

Hi Nanana,

Yup, I'm still keen to try :D Dense texture is the one I like for my bread so that will be good.

The reason why I'm looking for a gluten-free bread is because of my acne. I regularly eat bread for breakfast so I think my acne is caused by the gluten which contained in the bread I've been consuming.

You don't use any chemicals, artificial colourants / sweeteners or any nasty things in your bread right? :)

Hi, have you tried Jason's supermarket? I am gluten intolerant too and pick up things from there sans gluten but unfortunately haven't bought bread yet so I wouldn't know 100% if they sold it.

I am having a similar problem trying to find 'clean' bread,
these two shops have healthy looking bread options- I think gluten free.
I didn't buy any because it was frozen and would have defrosted by the time I got home.

this one is near the botanical gardens: http://www.eat-organic.com.sg/index.html

this one is in orchard: http://www.supernature.com.sg/

not sure if they are conveniently located for you though.

best wishes
Rachel

Is Oat meal better than eating bread? Which one is more fattening?

What do you guys mean by clean bread? Is normal bread dirty or something?

Oatmeal is amazing. All around wonder food from mother nature herself. I, myself, don't really like the taste of it. It is the least allergenic food that I am aware of. Please do your research as this is solely based on my very own experience. A bunch of fat kids were put on a oatmeal diet in Taiwan. They loose some weight and lower their cholesterol too.

I recently discover oatmeal flour as a facial cleanser. Despite my age, I still suffer from acne. I won't say it helps to prevent acne but at least it does not aggravate the condition. Soothing and natural, I hope it will become the secret for a youthful look and wholesome and healthy living. As a baby, my daughter developed whole body rashes. I put her in oatmeal bath and it took care of the problem.

Affordable and readily available. Oatmeal is untouchable, a greatness all unto itself.

Except that it raises your uric acid levels.

Sure, I had a clean GI tract, very low cholesterol and blood pressure but I sure was very prone to arthritis.
