contract is perm - apologies - pass is based on that contract.

Again, you contract is only as permanent as your employment pass. If the MOM doesn't renew your EP/S/WP it doesn't mean squat what your employment contract says with the employer. All contracts in Singapore are only as valid as the length of the Employment Pass. If no renewal, job over. kaput, finished, go home. And yes, the government here is constantly moving the goalposts and even you you got one originally, doesn't mean you will still be qualified for that same position at the time of the next renewal. Nothing here is a given. Unless you have PR or SGC you are here only on borrowed time at the government's pleasure.
