Feedback on PR Application

Post by John234 » Mon, 14 Apr 2014 11:26 am

Dear All,

I would like to get some advice regarding the chances of getting Singapore PR. I came to Singapore in the year 2009 on a student visa to do master's degree, but a year after unfortunately my school was shut down and I was unable to continue my further studies thereafter. With god's grace I was able to secure a job and I have been working here for around 2.5 years on S pass. I'd like to settle down in this country and now I'm doing some research on applying for SPR. I understand that the rules are more tighten but based on my profile and your experience I would like to ask for your kind feedback on my chances if I proceed to apply for the PR status.

(Marital Status: Single, Age: 24 yrs old, Highest Qualification: Bachelor's Degree in commerce, Nationality: Indian, Current Work: Asst. Manager in Service sector).

Please enlighten me.

Thank you very much.

Honestly? Virtually nil. Working as an Assistant Mgr in the Services sector? Not what you would really call a niche occupation or one that cannot be filled by locals. You might find yourself having a bigger problem of just getting your S pass renewed the next time. I personally think applying for PR is a waste of time, but it's your time, so if you feel like dealing with possible rejection and getting the dreaded letter saying you are welcome to stay here as long as you can get your employment visa renewed. Don't want to be so negative, but seriously, I don't see a way from my viewpoint.

Would you be willing to do National Service?

Thank you for your reply.

If NS is one of the requirements to fulfill, I would be happy and more willing to do. Because I love this country. It helped me during the tough times of my life. I understand the chances are very slim. But I'm just hoping to try my best. I know people with lower qualifications got their PR approval. So I believe some miracle may happen and I hope and pray to get a positive outcome for my application.

Thank you once again for your feedback.
