Singapore Passport

Post by alibaba1984 » Mon, 31 Mar 2014 2:30 pm

Hi, I just granted with SPR recently. Can I apply for Singapore Passport? or I still have to use the passport of my country of origin? I do remember that my sis got a Singapore Passport when she granted SPR 6 years ago (now she is SC). Don't know the law got changed or not?

If I have to use my originated country passport, do I have to re-apply for the eIACS (electronic Clearance System) again since my previous Employment Pass already cancelled during the completion of formalities of my SPR? The eIACS is very important and convenience for my case due to I always need to go in and out of singapore during peek hours.

Thanks.

If you are not Singapore Citizen, you cannot get a Singapore passport. Very simple. You only get an IC.

As for the eIACS, I am not sure, but I would think you need to re-enroll. Just check their website, it should be in their FAQ.

You can only get a Singapore Passport if you are a Singapore Citizen.

You will be automatically enrolled in the eIACS system. I was told that it might take 4-5 days (after completion of formalities appointment) before the systems are updated, but still, automatic enrolment.

Only citizens get the passport. You probably remembered it of your sister in wrong order.

And don't worry about eIACS, it has automatically been updated so you can still use the automated system. But bring your REP with your passport at all times.
