Your budget is too low!
Renting a room in a shared flat, which is the cheapest accommodation option available, will cost you at least S$800/month, or more if you want to have your own bathroom or stay near the university - or if you are in a hurry to find something.
Furthermore, it is very difficult to find a place before you arrive (and you should never commit to renting something you haven't seen!).
Therefore, I recommend you arrange temporary accommodation (e.g. in a cheap hotel, which would cost around S$80/night) for the first month or so and then look for a longer-term place when you are here.
Good luck!

I understand that this is a lot of money for you - but the Singapore
property market doesn't care. Sorry for that!
An apartment that can be shared by 3 or 4 people will cost you S$3000/month or more - around the same per person as a sublet room costs.
I think the abovementioned student hostels are really your only option then!

do you have a student pass? you can't rent a place without an appropriate visa/pass.
i don't profess to have heard of kaplan university, but do they have an international students' office that can help you out?
i know of people that rent small rooms in old
condos for about 850$ in geylang not too far from (but not too near) the train station. green line, i think?
where is this kaplan university?

According to Google Maps, Kaplan university Singapore is right next to Orchard Road, thus living anywhere within walking distance is impossible below S$1500 even for a sublet room.

As the others said. If this Kaplan uni is off Orchard Rd then IMHO the best bet for you is what the Lynx suggested. The Queensway's hostel is close to both MRT and multiple bus lines and also not that far away from the Orchard campuses - consider cycling. I am really afraid for $600 you are not entitled any preferences in Singapore.
Another option to explore is Little India and sharing a room in one of the old shophouses. Frankly I don't know the rent but I would expect something in the range (450-800) if there are any room shared accommodations over there. If lucky, this could be in a walking distance from your campus.

thank you guys , in fact the University has jaut given me several choices , and the cost is roughly 600$ ( only for Kaplan student ) , so i think its suiltable for me at the moment .
thank Lynx for the suggestion , 6 months ago i was living in Queensway hostel because of my course in MDIS , it was fine with only 500$ per month for a quarlet room ( pretty far from the central ). i just taken a look at the second link u gave and the hostel in Henderson is a good choice , does anyone here know about how far - and how long it take from Henderson to kaplan ( close to Orchart road ) , thank you
