We are relocating for 2 years to Singapore. Like the look of the Watten Estates area - low rise, quiet, green but I will be working out in a school in Bukit Batok West Avenue 8 .
There are 3 bus routes that connect Coronation Plaza to the location of the school and according to Gothere.sg it is 20 stops and a half hour journey.
However I have read about the traffic and construction work going on so wonder would that be the same in the rush hours? I will be travelling out and westwards - will that make a difference - or do all those expat school runners contribute to the traffic going out of the city? Don't want to spend more than 45 minutes travelling if I can help it so do we abandon that idea and look nearer the school for a similar type of area?

I live not far from Dulwich and school run to holland village area every day. It's 4km, outside of rush hour it takes me 10 minutes. During rush hour (each way) can take me 40 minutes. I've spent 25 minutes trying to pull off the PIE.
One of the biggest problems is you will be traveling with everyone going to JB, Tuas, pioneer and the offices around Boon Lay. If you want green but convenient then up towards Cashew, over towards Upper Bukit Timah or near clementi mall would work.

Going by public bus is probably faster than by car in rush hour along Bukit Timah but not necessarily PIE. If you tell us what BUSes you consider perhaps we can try to be more elaborative.

It may be a long shot but thought I would still give it a go. Anyone in the west who would be keen for a cuppa & a play date for a 8 year old girl?...
