Will we get PR?

Post by indian_pr » Wed, 05 Mar 2014 3:47 pm

We are planning to apply PR in the middle of 2014. Just wanted to know the views on our profile.

husband - R&D Engineer
Industry - Semiconductor
salary - 55k / annum
nationality - indian
current pass - EP (Q1)
Exp - 4 yrs in Singapore
Education - BE (india) Msc (NTU) completed but didnt graduate, MBA (UK)
PR rejection - 4 times (2010 to 2013)
Married - recently
Involved in volunteering in NLB/social organizations
Income tax filing - 4th time including 2014

Wife - Indian
Education - BE (India)
Current pass - DP
Occupation - Administrative Executive
Salary - 20k / annum
Exp - less than 6 months
Involved in volunteering in NLB/social organizations

Is there any change to get PR in Singapore ?

This has to be one of the most deparate cases I've seen!

I reckon your chances are zero, actually probably less!

By already applying FOUR times, from almost the first moment you arrived, you have basically screwed up your chances for PR (and rightly so).
Your rejection letters suggested you continue to stay on with EP. Just follow that advise!

I'm afraid I have to concur. R&D Engineer 4 years and still on a Q1? I can understand why you were rejected. Did you start out on an S pass?

Hi SundaymorningStaple,

I started with TEP not S pass. ICA provided me TEP once I had the offer letter with me. TEP to EP.

I did my postgraduation in NTU but since my CGPA was less, I couldn graduate but passed the entire course.

Can I go for an appeal if I still fail to get a PR?

The letter either says this or invites the applicant to re-apply after XX months or years. For repeat applicants like the OP, the second option isn't used any more. The first option means "you will never become PR, unless your circumstances change substantially."

Then what was mentioned in the letter? Whatever it was, it must surely give you some hint...

There lies the problem. There is not point in pretending that ICA did not give you any hints. Previous rejections are hints. You choose to ignore them.

I see so many people here who act surprized when their PR application is rejected. There is an element of luck, govt policies, etc but there is also a problem of Candid Self-Evaluation.

If you think you were unlucky, and you apply again n again, it may result in more failures.
Instead, make a long-term plan to upgrade your profile and then try. Thats the only way out.

No one here is an oracle. These kind of posts sound desperate and people generalize it to all Indians.

Why do you want PR?

I'd be looking to jump somewhere else.

PNGMK - Where can OP jump after getting SPR?

I am afraid he cannot even go to Malaysia without visa after getting SPR.

I wonder what is the record number of PR rejections in as little time as possible for a single person?

I meant jump instead of getting SPR. For someone like him it's a no hoper staying here.
