Demand in Singapore

Post by travellar » Tue, 25 Feb 2014 1:50 pm

Hello everyone,

Having read all the posts on the forum relating to moving to Singapore, as well as having gathered information from foreign sources ,some doubts remain .
38 years old, i am working in a global manufacturing company in procurement team. Also have experience in this sphere 7 years, for a long time lived in South Korea, well knowing the region of Southeast Asia . Currently position - leading specialist , heading the direction of localization. I would like to get information about possibilities find job into manufactoring or another kind company in the procurement.
I would be grateful if somebody will outline the current situation in matters of relevance to foreign specialists in this field , salary expectations (which can count ) .
Reason : in SG lives little daughter.

This might be an area with few readers with that knowledge. Most on here are into Finance/Banking/IT/Sales. I, personally, have no knowledge in the mfg sector. Wish I could help. Have to tried the job boards like monster.com., JobDB, JobStreet, etc? While I wouldn't trust those ads there, at least they might give you some idea if it's feasible or not and a very rough gauge as to what those types of positions might offer here and whether they would even be open to Non-Singaporeans or not.

If you know your industry as well as you say you do, try using LinkedIn to drill down into the companies you know that have facilities here and try direct contact within the companies, like the hiring managers.

If you are really from where you wrote you are, then maybe you can get some more tips on this forum:
http://forum.russiansingapore.com/

But your best chance is LinkedIn anyway.

Btw, I also lived in South Korea before. You may try contacting user named Gradient from that Russian Singapore forum - he is was living there as well before moving to Singapore. :)
