I saw the nanny and FDW comment but was being subtle.

I can't wait, Steve. It's gonna be ace!

So we are 10 days into the new arrangement with my wife's friend as our maid.

Everyone has stayed in their appropriate beds so that's a good start

The difference between this maid and the last one is like night and day. My pregnant wife is able to relax and I am not stressed :-)

Our daughter loves the maid, we trust her and for the first time ever we have allowed someone other than ourselves to take our daughter to school.

Slight downsides are that conversation in the house is now 80% Tagalog (which I don't speak) and I have lost use of the TV in the evenings and have to watch GMA TV which is truly horrible. I often take refuge in the home office.

Is this the beginning of the end...............................

I hear you Steve, although I don't have a maid. Just endless extended family hanger-ons so it a constant stream of Tamil. I've contemplated moving a bed into my home office as I spend almost all waking hours already cooped up in there to keep from committing mayhem on my alcoholic BiL. Sounds like it's working reasonably well so far......
