Honestly the whole helper/maid culture here is just bizarre. Awful employers and awful maids. The root of the issue is how Singapore treats them - not real people with any rights whatsoever. I can't WAIT until my kids are old enough that we don't need one anymore. The only reason we have one is that we both have to work, and just couldn't manage with no family here.
