You can always buy 10x 10 pack for S$29. How much does it cost in Canada?

12 oz or 370 ml of maple syrup costs about 16. SGD. But I don't think that it is shelf stable enough to come by sea container. I regret the bottles of syrup that I had in the freezer and gifted rather than bring along. But at least someone got to enjoy rather risk the spoilage.

thank you all. This has been really helpful. We just spent 1500$ at Costco. We should be good with some essentials :)

By the way, large garbage bags might be OK if you're going to live in a detached home (bungalow) or townhouse, but if you're going to live in a condo they likely will be too big to fit down the garbage chute, especially for the newer condos with the pneumatic waste systems (PWS).

It's a good second use for plastic supermarket bags - they fit the garbage chutes perfectly.
