Councillor recomendations requested

Post by Bewildered » Wed, 12 Feb 2014 11:06 pm

My marriage has (almost?) completely failed - I moved out of the house due to my partners infidelity and she told the kids I abandoned them. My life is a cess pit - it is affecting my work and I am struggling to function. I will not go into details but I desperately need recomendations with the following:
a) a councillor that understands the expat life
b) a marriage councilor

Please dont espouse moral snippets or percieved wisdom. I need recomendations for people that can help me. I think it would help if the same person could do both. Due to both of our unhappiness there is no money left so I cant afford much, but will pay what I have to.

If you can recomend someone your friend saw that would help. Or please PM me.

P.S. I know the standard is to cut people who post under new acounts and create the ability to PM. My case is different. I am a user with another monica that needs help but needs to remain anonymous.

P.P.S. I am going to post multiple times to this thread to allow the ability to PM.

P.P.P.S. I know the moderators track IP addresses. Please do not look me up and allow me this tiny bit of privacy

Look for Joseph John.
I had a very good experience with him when he was at the Councelling and Care Centre (which is another place you can try). He now has his own practice somewhere near Orchard.
Nothing in life is free, but he is worth it!

Mrs Ming 9085 0416 - she helped my son a lot and specializes in inter family issues. Well trained. Based in an office in the Singaproe Bible College but practices secular counselling as well.

(Oh and good luck and prayers for your marriage. A marriage break down is an awful thing and very stressful).

(PS $75 a session is what she charged me but her rates are flexible I think).

Ming is helping me. Thank you PNGMK for the recomendation.
She is helping me overcome my weaknesses and helping to build me up again. I have a slight light at the end of a very long tunnel.

I am in a much better place and thought I would post an update.

I really liked Ming as a councilor but thought she was better aimed at marriage counselling - something the ex told me she was willing to do but never was.

I am seeing a councilor at SACAC which is currently meeting my needs better, although I wish I could have stayed at Ming and had the wife seriously try.

Anyway, it is now at the Lawyer stage and deciding between an aggressive Lawyer and a mediating one :(

best of Luck with everything! stay positive. One a related noted I did go to a counselor once when I was married and it was at my ex's insistence. After the session it seemed that even the counselor had turned against me and blamed me for everything that had happened, I'd never felt more miserable than at that point.
To get there early is on time and showing up on time is late
