Complicated PR application

Post by Limeball » Mon, 10 Feb 2014 4:35 pm

Hi,

I've submitted my PR application October 2013, still pending.

Would like to know my chances, profile as below:

Malaysian Chinese
25 this year
Single
Working in the Recruitment line in SG (SME)
Pay last year was $48k (Fixed + Comm)
S-Pass
Bachelor of Science

The thing is, my parents were working in Singapore back when i was a baby (1 year old), and gotten PR status for the whole family. Subsequently they moved back to Malaysia and cancelled the PR status for the whole family, me included (i was 3 years old then).

Would this negatively impact my application? I've explained to the lady at the counter that I was not in a position to make a decision, and she understands that but was unable to comment.

Thanks in advance!

It's possible, but I doubt it would hamper you application. I'd be more worried about your occupation passing muster, frankly speaking. In fact, I'd worry more about getting your S pass renewed.

Thanks for the feedback, good to know that it might not affect the PR application.

About the occupation.... yeah thats another thing, S pass no problem so far as it got renewed last year.

If you get your PR application approved, you will be counted as second generation and NOT be exempted from National Service.
Have a nice time in the military!
